PHNOM PENH, Cambodia – 9 July 2026 – Calypso Motors today unveiled its flagship motorcycle, the Calypso Xplorer, during an official ceremony held at Chip Mong 271 Mega Mall in the presence of government officials, industry leaders, business partners, VIP dealers, media representatives and key opinion leaders.
More than the launch of a new motorcycle, today’s event celebrates nearly five years of vision, research, engineering and determination by Calypso Motors to prove that a motorcycle conceived, engineered and manufactured in Cambodia can compete on the international stage.
The launch marks an important milestone not only for Calypso Motors, but also for Cambodia’s growing industrial ambitions, demonstrating the country’s ability to move beyond assembly into high-value engineering, innovation and advanced manufacturing.
Designed and developed from the ground up at Calypso Motors’ facility in Phnom Penh, the Calypso Xplorer is the result of years of continuous product development carried out by Cambodian and international engineers, designers and technicians. Throughout this journey, Calypso Motors has invested in developing proprietary technologies, strengthening local engineering capabilities and building a product designed specifically for the needs of Southeast Asian riders while meeting international standards.
For a country long associated with garment production and light manufacturing, this achievement represents a significant step forward and sends a clear message to regional partners and global investors: Cambodia is ready not only to manufacture, but also to design, engineer and innovate.

Designed for both dense Southeast Asian cities and demanding long-distance expeditions, the Calypso Xplorer combines robust mechanical performance with rider-focused safety, smart connectivity and proprietary technologies developed by Calypso Motors to improve both safety and the overall riding experience.
Every component and every specification has been extensively tested on Cambodian roads to deliver a motorcycle that is reliable, practical and ready for everyday riders as well as extraordinary adventures.

• Advanced Safety Technology – Equipped with Startec Intelligent Safety features, including automatic accident alert assistance and an anti-theft system with remote immobilization capability.
• High-Performance Engine – Powered by a 180cc liquid-cooled engine delivering 18 hp (13.6 kW) at 8,500 rpm and 17.2 N·m of torque at 6,500 rpm.
• Smart Touchscreen Dashboard – CarPlay-style connectivity allowing riders to safely access navigation, calls, music and essential applications while keeping their phone securely stored.
• ABS Braking System – Improved braking performance and rider confidence under all conditions.

To demonstrate the motorcycle’s reliability and the confidence Calypso Motors has in its engineering, the company has conceived and initiated an ambitious transcontinental expedition from Phnom Penh to Milan.
Rather than relying solely on laboratory testing or marketing claims, Calypso Motors chose to put the Calypso Xplorer through one of the most demanding real-world demonstrations imaginable: nearly 30,000 kilometres across approximately 15 countries, crossing mountains, deserts, extreme temperatures and diverse road conditions before reaching Milan, Italy.
The expedition will be led by Mr. Frost ZK, one of Cambodia’s best-known motorcycle adventurers and Calypso Motors Brand Ambassador, whose decade of international adventure riding makes him the ideal person to carry this mission across Asia and Europe.
The journey will culminate at EICMA in Milan, one of the world’s most prestigious motorcycle exhibitions, where Calypso Motors will showcase the Calypso Xplorer alongside leading international motorcycle manufacturers.
More than an endurance challenge, this expedition reflects Calypso Motors’ determination to demonstrate that Cambodian engineering, innovation and manufacturing are capable of meeting international standards while showcasing Cambodia’s growing industrial capabilities to the world.
